CHOOSE YOUR ROUTE ROUTES

Tour de Tripoint is an exciting bike tour celebrating Europe Day around the border triangle of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany. On the two suggested routes, you’ll experience an immersive cycling adventure and a genuine journey through three distinct cultures that blend together like nowhere else, creating a unique setting.

You don’t have to be an experienced cyclist. We’ve designed two routes so that everyone can join in and experience the joy of discovering the border triangle. Visit the link for each route to see the details, description, and route map.

For the youngest participants looking for some friendly competition, there’s a bike race at the Kristýna Recreation Area (Hrádek nad Nisou, CZ), just 5 km from Zittau, where children can compete in a friendly atmosphere.

TOUR DE TRIPOINT

The Tour de Tripoint is a cycling tour that winds through Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany. This year, the tour begins on May 10 in Hrádek nad Nisou (Czech Republic)—participants will also ride past the zoo in Zittau (Germany) and through Bogatynia (Poland). The route winds through the diverse landscapes of the three countries—from green valleys and forest trails to small towns where the history and influences of the three neighboring nations are evident. The event is dedicated to democracy, integration, and unity—participants ride together under the colors of Europe.
Across Countries and Generations
Cycling is all about having fun—that’s why the Tour de Tripoint isn’t a race, but an event for everyone. Participants can choose between two routes: 50 km or 80 km. The routes are suitable for both beginners and experienced cyclists. Rest areas will be set up along the route at the zoo in Weinaupark in Zittau and in Bogatynia.
There are plenty of attractions for the youngest participants, too! From 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, a special children’s program will take place at the Kristýna recreation area (Hrádek nad Nisou). In addition to a children’s bike race, the little ones can look forward to many games and activities for the whole family.

This year, we’re expanding our program to include a leisurely, 90-minute historical bike tour through the border triangle: “In the Footsteps of Our Shared Past” (1:00–2:30 p.m.) with a guide. An ideal choice for anyone who’d like to enjoy a shorter tour through the beautiful surroundings. In the afternoon, we will screen a documentary about a cycling journey through Europe. Our guest is former professional cyclist and filmmaker Markus Weinberg. He will introduce the film and discuss it with members of the European Parliament.

The Tour de Tripoint is an initiative that celebrates physical activity and promotes the idea of deepening connections between countries. The shared route across borders fosters a sense of European community—it invites participants to discover the region on two wheels and spend time together.

An exciting program for kids

Children can look forward to creative puzzle workshops, engaging discovery games, and an adventurous scooter ride under the European flags. The program also features archery, and for those who love to create, we have gingerbread decorating ready to go. Join us for a day of activity and creativity, where children will gain not only fantastic memories but also plenty of new knowledge.

07
Historical tour through the Tripoint region: In the footsteps of a shared past

Join us on a guided bike tour through the Tripoint with historian Ivan Rous and the Hillersche Villa organization from Zittau.
On this short route spanning three countries, we’ll explore a landscape deeply marked by our shared history. We’ll touch on topics related to lignite mining around Lake Kristýna, the history of the Spreewerk facilities, and traces of World War II in the border region. We will also address issues of local water supply and the “lost memory” of a landscape shaped by river regulation and abandoned mines.
Exploring the landscape will allow us to better understand not only history itself, but also the errors and mistakes that shaped it, and to reflect on how we treat it today.
During several short stops, there will be time for commentary, discussion, and shared reflection on how the past influences our present.
Route length: approx. 10 km
Start: 1:00 PM – Kristýna Recreation Area
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
Participation: free
Translation into Czech, German, and Polish will be provided.

THIS YEAR PARTNERSHIP SAXONY

Regional partnership is an excellent example of putting the European idea into practice – its goal is to bring citizens closer together and support the process of European integration at the regional level.

The Saxony Liaison Office in Wrocław serves as a “living” showcase of Saxony in Poland and a bridge between the partner regions of Lower Silesia and Lubusz. For thirteen years, the Office has been actively supporting broad cooperation in areas such as politics, economy, culture, education, and civil society. It initiates cross-border projects in the field of innovation and new technologies, promotes academic cooperation and scientific exchange, and organizes cultural events featuring creators and artists from both Poland and Saxony.

The Office’s activities reflect the commitment of the partner regions to strengthening good neighborly relations and tackling shared future challenges.
